This information provides details about how Missio Pontifical Mission Societies processes your personal data as part of our priest sponsorship programme and about your rights under the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1 Who is responsible for data processing?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

2 What data do we process and where does it come from?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We process personal data that we either receive directly from you or that is provided to us by our project partners (your seminary or university) as part of our cooperation.
This data includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Master data and study-related data: <\/strong>first and last name, contact details, information about your studies\/training, year of study. (Source: direct collection or transmission by the university\/seminary).<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Additional voluntary information: <\/strong>e.g. biographies, letters of motivation, personal reports to donors, photos or similar information that you voluntarily provide to us.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    3 For what purposes and on what legal basis is data processed?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    We process your data in accordance with the provisions of the GDPR:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. To fulfil contractual obligations (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR)<\/strong>
      The processing of your master data and study data is necessary to initiate, execute and manage the study support contract with you. Without this data, we cannot grant or pay out support.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. On the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR)<\/strong>
      For certain purposes, such as the processing and publication of further information (e.g. biographies, photos for our website, for maintaining contact with priest sponsors or publications), we obtain your express consent.
      Important note: <\/em>This consent is always voluntary<\/strong>. If you do not share certain information with us or revoke your consent at a later date, this will not disadvantage <\/strong>you in any way <\/strong>in terms of support for your vocation and training. You can revoke your consent at any time with future effect by contacting us informally.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. To safeguard legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR)<\/strong>
      After you have successfully completed your studies or training as a priest, we will continue to process your basic and contact details (e.g. name, email address) in order to stay in touch with you (alumni work). The purpose of this processing is to maintain contact with priests and, if necessary, to offer you further support or relevant network contacts. Our legitimate interest lies in the long-term support of our scholarship holders beyond the end of the actual scholarship. (Note: You have the right to object to this processing at any time \u2013 see point 7).<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      4 Who receives your data? (Recipients)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      Within our organisation, only those departments that need your data to fulfil our contractual and legal obligations (e.g. project management, accounting, sponsorship support) have access to it.
      In addition, we pass on your data to the following parties:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      • Education sponsors (donors): <\/strong>The persons or institutions that financially support your scholarship will receive the data mentioned in point 3.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Authorities: <\/strong>Insofar as we are legally obliged to do so (e.g. to authorities in Austria).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        5 Data transfer to a third country<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

        Your data will only be processed within the European Union. No personal data will be processed in a third country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        6 How long will your data be stored?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

        We store your personal data for as long as is necessary to carry out the sponsorship. After the scholarship has ended, the data will be stored until you object. We will delete voluntary information based on consent immediately if you revoke your consent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        7 What data protection rights do you have?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

        Under the GDPR, you have the right to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        • Right to access <\/strong>(Art. 15 GDPR) about your data processed by us.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Rectification <\/strong>(Art. 16 GDPR) of inaccurate data.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Right to erasure <\/strong>(Art. 17 GDPR) of your data, provided that there are no legal retention obligations to the contrary.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Restriction of processing <\/strong>(Art. 18 GDPR).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Data portability <\/strong>(Art. 20 GDPR).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Withdrawal of consent <\/strong>(Art. 7(3) GDPR) at any time with effect for the future.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

          Special note on the right to object (Art. 21 GDPR):<\/strong>
          Insofar as we process your data on the basis of our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) \u2013 in particular for the purpose of maintaining contact after you have completed your studies (alumni work) \u2013 you have the right to object to<\/strong> this processing at any time. We will then no longer process your data for these purposes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
